Do any of you guys ever seen a strawberry shake colored lake? Well, I bet you didn’t… Am I right? Oh, yeah, I know, now you think I’m talking nonsense. But, you are wrong! There is such a thing on this Earth, and just for your information it is located in Senegal, Africa and it is called Retba. We can thank for the color to a rare sort of algae - Dunaliella salina - that basically makes this lake pink. Another thing is that the lake has a high percentage of the salt, like the Dead sea, so people can’t drown so easily. Those two things - salt (that is not usual for a lake) and the strawberry shake (…yummy…) make it a completely strange but unique lake; one of a kind in our world.
