Physicists hell-bent on destroying the universe have come up with a tiny LED that produces 69 Pico watts of light while using just 30 Pico watts of power. That’s an efficiency of above 100%, which should be impossible, but isn’t.

6 Movies That Were Glorified Commercials
Tivo and Digital recording technology allows us to fast forward through commercials. Ad block plus and pop up blockers handle them on the net. Hollywood knows whats up, and have for years. And every once in awhile they will blatantly sell out just to show us that they can bend the entertainment world over and plunge their p**** of advertising deep into our brains.
The Italian Job (The Remake)
Released May 11, 2003 The Italian Job is a movie about a gold heist. In a typical breach of criminal code, a thief steals gold from his fellow thieves. The remedy? Steal it back, of course! Using Mini Coopers. How’d they do it? They (Includes Marky-Mark) modified three BMW Mini Coopers to be extra light, but carry a lot of weight. Then they drove them through all sorts of California roads, sewers, and various other tight spaces.

F-22 Fighter Loses $79 Billion Advantage In Dogfights
The United States has spent nearly $80 billion to develop the most advanced stealth fighter jet in history, the F-22 Raptor, but the Air Force recently found out firsthand that while the planes own the skies at modern long-range air combat, it is "evenly matched" with cheaper, foreign jets when it comes to old-school dogfighting.
Top 10 Olympic Games Firsts
With the London Olympics in 2012, the five rings are jangling wildly in excitement. Every four years since 1896, the Olympic have gone on without fail, unsnuffed like the flame of that symbolic torch. Even amidst wars, civil rights tension, and various individual tragedies, the games have championed on, continuing to showcase the fittest our countries have to offer, and the fittest countries over all. For those overwhelmed by more pressing matters than javelins and pole vaults and relay races, these determined athletes provide a great source of inspiration and hope. But we didn’t always have such failsafe outlet in which to instill our pride. It, just like the human race, has come along way since its original inception. Here are ten Olympic firsts.

List Of Top Ten Fastest Growing Businesses In China
Although Chinese GDP slowed in the last half of 2010, the country has maintained an average growth rate of about 10.2% since 2006, far outstripping growth in most Western economies. The fastest growing companies are listed here as the firms with the highest share price appreciation from market close on December 31, 2008 through October 20, 2010 on the Shanghai Composite Index.
Since January 1, 2009, out of the 870 components on the Shanghai Composite Index, 19 have experienced share price growth of over 500%, while 553 companies have seen share price growth above 100%. Over this period, the Shanghai Index is up 65%, while the NYSE Composite is up 29% and only one US stock, Ford Motor (+502.6%), can rival the share price appreciation of the fastest-growing Chinese companies. But even Ford would still only just barely crack the top 20.
These companies on this list must also have a current share price above $3 (USD). All prices and market caps are displayed in US dollars.

Top 10 Embarrassing Jobs
Many prominent economists are saying that just having a job in this economy is reason to be grateful. Unemployment is expected to reach 10% and the number of people living below the poverty line is the highest it’s been in years. However, there are some jobs where dumpster diving seems a better alternative. Being unemployed doesn’t evoke the same cringes as these jobs do when you're asked, “What do you do for a living?” In this economy, everyone should have an idea of the lowest job they would accept. Hopefully it’s at least a few levels above any on this list.
Incredible Space Pics From ISS By NASA Astronaut Wheelock
On September 22, 2010, with the departure of the Expedition 23 crew, Colonel Douglas H. Wheelock assumed command of the International Space Station and the Expedition 25 crew. He is also known as @Astro_Wheels on twitter, where he has been tweeting space photos to his followers since he arrived at the space station. We thought that we should put some of the space photos together as a tribute to him and the whole ISS crew. The space photos bring breathtaking views from our only off planet Vista point. The following space photos are all visible on Astro_Wheels’ twitpic account, and we are eternally grateful to him for sharing these space photos with the world. Many have commented directly to him but we want to make it clear Triggerpit does not have any affiliation with Astronaut Wheelock nor NASA. The confusion might have been since all the captions are all his own words as can also be seen on his twitpic account.

Be Aware Of Your Mate-To-Be's Gender
Indonesian Bride Discovers Groom to be a Woman
Waiting until marriage to consummate a relationship is all fine and dandy if that’s your thing, but you should always be aware of the gender of your mate-to-be before tying the knot. Such is the sad tale of a woman in the Banten province of Indonesia, who discovered her soon-to-be husband was actually a woman. During the exchanging of the vows, the “groom” let escape a female voice. This caused the congregation to grow a bit suspicious. The cleric started asking questions, and according to a police office, his voice “turned soft, like that of a woman.” Even the cop was surprised, as he later stated that “she looked very much like a man and her voice was heavy.”

FBI Memo: Proof Of UFOs?
Leaking Out
It's finally here.
After all the hard work, the blurry, unsubstantial pictures, the tales of abduction, the pilgrimages into the New Mexico desert only to return empty-handed but still full of conviction - it's all paid off. A memo from 1950 found in the now publicly-available FBI archives is proof that the US government has known about flying saucers, UFOs, alien life forms - possibly even the notorious Roswell crash.

The FBI estimates that in 2010, some 737,142 vehicles were stolen in the U.S., a drop of more than 7 percent from the year before. Body Language : Blank Face
To find the right picture to illustrate this entry was the most difficult task I had to deal with in the past three months. Can you believe it? It took me two hours to come up with this portrait. I’ve tried all possible searches: face, face close-up, serious face, blank face, man portrait and so on… The keyword that led me to this image is “expressionless”, which is also the right word to define a “blank face”.

Strawberry Shake Colored Lake
Do any of you guys ever seen a strawberry shake colored lake? Well, I bet you didn’t… Am I right? Oh, yeah, I know, now you think I’m talking nonsense. But, you are wrong! There is such a thing on this Earth, and just for your information it is located in Senegal, Africa and it is called Retba. We can thank for the color to a rare sort of algae - Dunaliella salina - that basically makes this lake pink. Another thing is that the lake has a high percentage of the salt, like the Dead sea, so people can’t drown so easily. Those two things - salt (that is not usual for a lake) and the strawberry shake (…yummy…) make it a completely strange but unique lake; one of a kind in our world.

Amazing Art of Ancient Calendars
These ancient calendars are brilliant works of art, check them out and be amazed!
The human race has a long way from living in caves in the strong age to planning to settle on different planets in this technologically advanced age. All this has become possible because of the curiosity of few intelligent individuals in the movement of astral bodies in the sky. They observed the movements of various planets in space night and day and chartered their path, speed and locations in the sky at different times for the posterity. Over a period of time, such individuals came together, formed an association and started publishing their results for the knowledge of general public. It was because of the royal patronage that different types of “ephemeris” (detailed day-to-day movements of the planets in the sky) based on either the sun or moon came into existence. Over a period of time these were refined further. A variety of such calendars existed all over the world, some of which are given below.

The printed-on 3D motifs are deceptively realistic and will cause neighbors, friends and passers-by to stop and stare!

From Missing To Murdered Photo Gallery
Aliahna Lemmon
Aliahna Lemmon, 9, went missing Friday on December 23, 2011. She and her sisters had been staying with neighbor/family friend Mike Plumadore, 39, while her mother, Tarah Souders, 28, recovered from the flu. Souder told police that Aliahna, who was hard of hearing and had Attention Deficit Disorder, needed supervision that her husband, who worked nights and slept during the day, was unable to provide. Plumadore, who had watched the children before, was the one who called to report Aliahna as missing. Police were concerned because there were 15 registered sex offenders living in the area where the girl had disappeared. On Monday, sadly, police found Aliahna's body and arrested Plumadore, whom they had already interviewed several times. He allegedly confessed to beating her to death with a brick, and then dismembering her body. He stored her head, hands and feet in his freezer, and dumped the rest of her remains in garbage bags. Though Plumadore has a police record in Florida, it does not include sex offenses. No motive has been established for the murder.Read more »
